Polen Türkmen is a research associate for A Path for Europe (PfEU). Her areas of interest include EU foreign affairs, EU — Turkey relations, EU’s neighbourhood policy, disinformation, populism and political theory.
Currently, Polen is pursuing her master’s degree in International Affairs at Hertie School, specialising in Security and Sustainability. She holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from University of St Andrews, UK. Her professional background includes research assistantships in the fields of human rights, global justice and digital governance, as well as experience in scientific communication and project management assistance in European science policy projects, particularly on issues pertaining to disinformation. As a UNESCO GAPMIL youth committee member, Polen also promotes media literacy projects in Europe and around the globe. Besides English, Polen is fluent in Turkish, Romanian and Spanish, and further speaks German and Greek at an intermediate level.
As a research associate, Polen will help develop research programs, organise events and publish articles on a regular basis.
